TOBIQUE CAMPING & CHALETS
Our accommodations for the weekend
Situated along the Tobique River are the Tobique Camping & Chalets , the cottage to the left would be our lodging for the weekend. This place offered canoe rentals which we decided on doing and it also included a shuttle service to our starting point. This canoe trip would end right at the doorsteps of our cottage making for a simple logistic start and finish for this year canoe trip.
Loading gear and taking a school bus trip.
Very convenient to have a shuttle service, don't have to bother driving a couple of trucks to start point and then driving back to start point at end of canoe trip with third truck and drivers to pick up trucks at start point.
The start point, Forks of Tobique
The starting lineup, Left to right, Kevin, Steven, Troy, Mark, Jeff and Dave
Set in at "Forks of Tobique" and paddled for approximately 10.7 km to "Tobique Camping and Chalets". Relatively short route this year.
Launching at Forks of Tobique. Some enthusiastic gents getting their fly rods ready, some not so about rods, more cooler placement.
Paddling begins.
About 4.7 km from start we make our first stop at Tequila Island.
Nothing better than getting in some fishing after a shot of Tequila. Steve trying the worm at the bottom of bottle as bait.
Back on the river.
Another trip in the books, time to relax and enjoy some meals cooked by our famous cook Mark.
All in all, a good trip but their was mishap which occurred on the way down. Steve got a flat tire on the way their, Pond brothers working, the rest watching.

Steve drove over something, half a dozen punctures. Middle of nowhere and raining out but the spare is on.
